The EED is looking for an internal accountant to support its operations.
This opportunity offers a broad exposure through undertaking a wide range of accounting, financial, operational, compliance and audits.
Main functions of the post:
Provide accounting support within the Operations and Finance Team. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of the Chief Operations Officer and will report to the Director of Operations. The candidate shall be responsible for:
- Daily entering key data of accounting transactions in the custom made accounting software
- Updates and maintains general ledger accounts in close cooperation with the Chief Operations Officer and the external certified accountant
- Performs data entry, verification, and back-up;
- Prepares and maintain accounting documents and records, including updating the historical balance (balance âgée)
- Performs accounting reconciliations
- Reconciles accounts in a timely manner
- Ensures that allocating records are accurate and timely for local administration and audits
- Works in close relation with the external certified accountant
- Complies with general office policies, procedures and all legal requirements.
- Assists with the preparation of financial reports and statements
- Prepares annual accounting reports and inventories for EED ExCom members, consultants, as necessary
- Acts as a liaison for suppliers to reconcile any billing discrepancies
- Posts journal entries for accrued expenses and revenue
- Maintains confidentiality of accounting information
- Provide input into development of EED accounting processes
- Undertakes any other finance related duties as required by the Director of Operations
